Four skills, one government-approved standard.
Typewriting and Shorthand, taught properly in English and Tamil — with guidance toward Computer Office Automation planned as a next step.
If any of this sounds like you, you're in the right place.
Typewriting and Shorthand aren't tied to one stage of life. Students join for very different reasons — and all of them fit.
Choose your language, choose your skill.
English Typewriting
The foundation course — fingering, speed practice, and certified grade exams.
Tamil Typewriting
The same structured path, taught in Tamil.
English Shorthand
Available for students who've built a typing foundation or want to start directly.
Tamil Shorthand
Taught after English shorthand theory, following the same rigorous approach.
A structured path, not a vague promise.
Every student moves through the same proven sequence — at a pace that fits their life.
Fingering Practice
Correct finger placement and rhythm from day one, so speed is built on good habit, not shortcuts.
Speed Practice — First Paper
Consistent, guided practice raises accuracy and words-per-minute together.
Junior Grade — 30 WPM
The first certified milestone. At one hour a day, most students reach it in about nine months.
Senior Grade — 45 WPM
A further four months of practice at the same pace — or sooner, on the two-hour-a-day fast track.
1 Hour a Day
Junior Grade in about 9 months, Senior Grade in a further 4 months.
2 Hours a Day — Fast Track
The same two grades, completed sooner for students who can commit more time per session.
English first, then Tamil.
Shorthand is available in both English and Tamil. Tamil shorthand is taught after English shorthand theory is complete, so the transcription fundamentals are solid before adding a second script.
Where these skills can take you.
Typewriting and Shorthand are foundational skills for a wide range of government and private-sector office roles — wherever accurate, fast written work matters. Here's where these skills are commonly valued.
Typist
Government Clerk
Junior Assistant
Personal Assistant
Stenographer
Office Assistant
Administrative Assistant
Receptionist
Data Entry Operator
Office Executive
Back Office Executive
This list reflects roles where typing and shorthand skills are generally valued, not a placement guarantee or a list of confirmed hires.
Government-approved, no hidden charges.
Examination fees are collected separately, at the government-set rate.
Weighed against what it opens up — a formal eligibility requirement met, a certified skill for office and administrative work, a qualification that doesn't expire — it's a modest, transparent cost for something you carry for the rest of your working life.
A Future Direction: Computer Office Automation
Guidance toward Computer Office Automation is planned as a next step for students who complete Typewriting, extending the same discipline into computer-based office work.
